Before I started this blog I asked my family lots of questions. I wanted to know what was the one thing that I made that they loved the most. My husband and son both chimed in with this Taco Pie at the top of the list. This recipe I actually jotted down on a note pad at a home I used to clean years ago. I never wrote down the name of that cookbook but I am so glad I wrote the recipe down. I used to make this in a pie plate but since my son eats anything that is not nailed down I had to adjust it to make so much more. My son used to be so picky and only had a handful of things he would eat. One day he just decided to try tacos and he was hooked. Tacos are his absolute favorite food to eat and I am sure he would eat them everyday. He became a teenager and now eats so much more. My advise to all of you that have picky eaters is that eventually they become teenagers and that all goes out the window, especially if its a boy. Now lets get to the recipe. Report this ad The cast of characters....... My Latest Videos (Taco seasoning, corn chips, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, crescent rolls, hamburger) Cook the hamburger until done and then add the taco seasoning and continue cooking according to your package directions. Line a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish with crescent rolls. You will have to piece them together and make sure that the seems are all pinched together. You then want to add about half of the crushed corn chips on top of the crescent rolls. I usually put the corn chips in a freezer bag and roll the rolling pin over them to crush them. Report this ad Place the hamburger mixture over the corn chips. Report this ad Spread the sour cream on top of the hamburger mixture. On top of the sour cream you want to place the cheese. I usually use sharp cheddar cheese but you can use which ever you prefer. Reserve some of the cheese to place on the very top of the dish. Spread the remaining corn chips on top of the cheese. Place the reserved cheese on top of the corn chips. This is just how I like it but If you want to just have corn chips on top that is ok too. Report this ad Place this in a 375 degree oven for about 20 minutes. I usually cook it according to the directions on the crescent rolls package. Report this ad You can use what ever toppings you like or nothing at all. It is seriously good just like it is but if you feel you need something more than by all means go for it. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family does. Served up with Love! Taco Pie 2 packages of crescent rolls (you can also purchase this in sheets now) Report this ad 1 bag of corn chips (crushed) 16 oz sour cream 1 1/2 -2 pounds of hamburger (turkey or chicken) 2 packages of taco seasoning 4 cup package of Shredded cheese (your choice of type) if you prefer you could use less.
